David Sandlin, President
Dave is a true construction professional with over 30 years of industry experience. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Colorado State University. Dave’s expertise stems from the delivery of complex, diverse projects and leading both small and large project teams. With international project experience, Dave has refined the ability to create an environment of collaboration and cooperation with diverse teams. As President of Heath Construction, he is charged with supporting the growth of the company and continuously advancing the environment of professionalism and collaboration. He oversees all aspects of Heath’s operations, including preconstruction, construction and business development activities.

Derek Breier, Construction Manager
Derek has deep roots in northern Colorado. graduating from Colorado State University with a degree in Construction Management. He is also LEED Accredited Professional and a Certified Healthcare Constructor. Derek recently served as a Project Manager for Saunders Construction, and worked on a variety of projects including the Children’s Hospital Colorado South Campus, Sidney Regional Medical Center, University of Colorado Boulder Center for Community, multiple remodels for SCL Health and Whole Foods, and many more.
Derek’s responsibilities at Heath include facilitating the involvement of operations staff during preconstruction, overseeing and supporting ongoing construction operations as well as project closeout. He leads these efforts and works to maintain an innovative atmosphere where the team can work together to constantly improve the organization functions. Additionally, he identifies the needs of Heath project teams and ensures the proper resources are in place to make projects successful

Scott Mikulak, Director of Preconstruction
Scott has been working and building relationships in the northern Colorado market for 18 years. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Master of Science in Construction Management from Arizona State University. Scott has extensive experience with design-build projects including healthcare, brewery, office buildings, auto dealerships and many other project types. As preconstruction manager, Scott works closely with the estimating department and the operations teams to further enhance Heath’s ability to plan and execute projects from beginning to end. He manages the up-front efforts on all negotiated projects and helps achieve success for all Heath’s clients.
Dan Dirksen, Business Development
Dan has nearly 20 years of experience in the construction industry – with over a decade of that time spent in northern Colorado. His experience consists of a variety of project types and sizes including residential, education, retail, medical, office, restaurant and brewery, industrial, and manufacturing. He earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Colorado School of Mines. As the Business Development Manager, Dan’s focus is spent on furthering Heath’s relationships in the northern Colorado market place, providing clients a single point of contact for new project development, and risk management.
